There are four ways to install ULFS:

Any of installation ways have own pros and cons. Using of specific way is depends on task definition.

Using prebuilt image

If you wish to install base from prebuilt image follow next steps:

  • Download archived disk image (*.img.gz or *.qcow2.gz) .
  • Check checksum. If checksum is not valid, image is broken and download restart is needed.
  • Unpack disk image. You have to get *.img or *.qcow2 file.
  • Configure your hypervisor to run unpacked disk image (RAW image format for *.img file, QCOW2 for *.qcow2 file).
  • Run virtual machine from unpacked disk image.
  • If system loaded correctly just login as root (without password) and perform command "poweroff".
  • If you use pure LFS image you need do perform ULFS customization. See propper chapter of this manual.
