In order to run ULFS your physical/virtual hardware have to met followed system requirements:

If you wish to install ULFS from archive file Optical Disk Drive (ODD) can be needed in order to load GRUB2 Rescue CD and install Master Boot Record (MBR).
Linux kernel is response for hardware support. If your hardware not supported out of box you can reconfigure and rebuild kernel or write your own kernel module. Using kernels from others distros is also possible.
